Trey Cunningham Runs Meet Record 7.53 In 60 Hurdles

Florida State sophomore Trey Cunningham tied the school record in the 60-meter hurdles Friday with a personal-best 7.53 seconds at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge at The Armory. 

Cunningham, who was sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships as a freshman, moves up to second nationally behind Florida's Grant Holloway (7.49). It was also a meet record.

Two years ago, Cunningham won a New Balance Nationals Indoor title at The Armory. and broke the national high school record on the 39-inch barriers with 7.40 seconds.

Nick Gray and Eric Harrison gave Ohio State a 1-2 finish in the men's 60-meter dash, going 6.71 and 6.72.

Yann Randrianasolo of South Carolina jumped 24-11 to win the men's long jump. 

The Florida State duo of Jayla Kirkland and Ka'Tia Seymour went 1-2 in the women's 60, clocking 7.28 and 7.30 seconds. 

Cortney Jones and Ashley Miller gave the Seminoles another sweep in the 60 hurdles, running 8.14 and 8.26, respectively. 

The Villanova women (10:59.98) ran a nation-leading time in the distance medley relay. Monmouth, Columbia and Temple all ran under 11:25. Columbia won the men's DMR in 9:38.93 and the race produced the five fastest times in the country so far in 2019.

UCLA's Alyssa Wilson, also returning to the site of her high school national championship, won the women's shot put with 56-7 (17.24m) for the No. 3 performance nationally this season. Teammate Ashlie Blake was second with 55-6 (16.89m).
