Armand Duplantis continued to make big progress in the pole vault on Saturday, breaking his own high school record twice on the way to an astonishing 18-9.25 (5.72 meters) and ensuring his eligibilty to compete at the IAAF World Championships in London this summer for his mother's native Sweden.

Duplantis, back on the runway at LSU, vaulted five times. He opened at 17-0.75 and then made 18-0.50 -- both on first tries. It took him two attempts to achieved 18-6.50 (5.65m) and then he made 18-9.25 on his only attempt before stopping.

Duplantis will compete in New York at the NYRR Millrose Games next week at The Armory.

The 18-9.25 clearance moved him into a tie for seventh on the all-time world junior list.
