Washington freshman Carley Thomas broke the program indoor record placing third behind American professionals Ajee' Wilson (2:02.33) and Olivia Baker (2:02.98) at the Dr. Sander Invitational Columbia Challenge at The Armory in New York. Thomas also elevated to the No. 23 all-time indoor collegiate performer. The Australian standout captured the silver medal in the outdoor 800 by running 2:01.13 at the 2018 World U-20 Championships in Finland.
